MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID ENGLAND TRAINING

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID ENGLAND TRAINING COURSE

The MHFA England training course teaches adults how to provide Mental Health First Aid to colleagues, family and friends.

As a licensed Mental Health First Aid England Instructor, I will deliver quality mental health training to your staff that will complement your mental and physical health at work strategies.

As part of the Adult Mental Heath First Aid England course, all participants are provided with learning materials including a MHFA England manual to aid learning.

This training will help establish a network of staff in your workplace who have a better understanding of how to support others with their mental health. By reading my post, ‘Why your business needs Mental Health First Aiders‘, you will understand more about the importance of this training for your organisation.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

“Ellender was welcoming and enthusiastic from the moment we joined the course. The way in which the information was explained, combined with real life examples, made learning the contents easy and enjoyable. I feel I have taken a huge amount from the course and that is in no small part because of the way in which it was delivered by Ellender.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Adult Mental Health First Aid training course – with me as your instructor, including all materials, digital manual and certificate – is at a discounted rate of £250 per participant.

*MHFA England values this course at £325 per person.

Mental Health First Aid courses are for everyone over 18. You do not need prior knowledge of mental health, just like not requiring medical knowledge to take a physical first aid course.

All sorts of people benefit from this training. The types of people who have benefited already include:

  • Line managers
  • Local authority staff
  • HR professionals
  • Frontline workers
  • Teachers
  • Transport industry employees

The Australia based MHFA International grants and oversees the worldwide licenses to individual counties. Each of these individual countries has been permitted to adapt the Mental Health First Aid course accordingly to meet their needs, reflecting cultural differences and differing mental health legislation.

MHFA England and MHFA Wales courses may differ slightly, however, the outcome and skills learned are essentially the same.

As this is an online course, you would need the following:

  • internet access
  • access to a laptop or computer with a web camera and microphone; the use of headphones might also be of benefit
  • use of the Chrome web-browser where possible

Participants who complete all of the required learning will have access to their downloadable Mental Health First Aid certificate once the course feedback has been completed.

The MHFA certificate is valid for three years, the same as physical first aid training. It is recommended that, in order to keep knowledge up to date, another Mental Health First Aid course is taken after this period of time.

For many, after the three years, a refresher course is adequate, instead of another full MHFA course. This will depend on the level of your retained knowledge, which differs for everyone.

At this time, only online courses are available.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING COURSE

In addition to your Mental Health First Aiders, it can be extremely beneficial for all staff to complete the Mental Health Awareness course.

The Mental Health Awareness training is a half day course designed to be an ideal starting point to learn about mental health and mental illness.

By training your whole organisation in Mental Health Awareness to complement your Mental health First Aiders, a strong network of mental health knowledge will be achieved. This investment will help to minimise days lost to mental health related illness and help build resilience.
