Working with Ellender on MHFA has been an absolute joy! Ellender has fantastic communication skills and is able to promote some very serious topics in a way that grasps your attention and makes you want to know more! Ellender encourages others to share their experiences in a safe space and draws on those experiences to inspire individuals to support others and take confidence that they have the ability to be Mental Health First Aiders . 

During courses, Ellender adapts to group and individual learning needs to ensure delegates get the most out of their course and it is appropriate to their environment in which they will be supporting. During training, Ellender is an advocate for mental health awareness and is able to draw on expertise to reduce stigma associated with mental health whilst demonstrating knowledge of mental illnesses and their interventions, knowledge of appropriate first aid strategies. I would recommend this course to everyone wanting to understand more about mental health. 

When organising courses, Ellender was flexible during scheduling and able to adapt to the working hours of safety critical colleagues; this made the planning process very smooth. Ellender spent time with the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Manager to understand the culture, diversity and complexity of the Railway industry prior to the delivery of our courses. It has been a wonderful experience to work with Ellender – as an instructor,  Ellender is approachable, encouraging and very mindful of any impact of the subject on participants.
